Job Code: 1671 Position Summary: FARO is seeking a Web Developer with strong ASP.NET skills to enhance and improve our 5000+ page North American Website. The successful candidate will have significant experience editing, updating, programming and troubleshooting in ASP.NET, HTML and SQL. Experience working with Dreamweaver, search-engine optimization, familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) is a must. SCOPE: Perform duties to serve as the North American Web Developer for the organization's international website, maintain and continuously improve the corporate website, making decisions controlled by precedent and within limits of established policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Responsible for the development, maintenance and back-end programming (primarily ASP.NET, but also HTML, SQL) necessary to keep the North American site up and running. · Troubleshoot, test and develop web content and maintain the web server through processes, procedures and documentation. · Plan and review site architecture for new additions to the site or optimization of user interface. · Ensure integrity of corporate identity is maintained throughout the site. · Post content to the site such as images, press releases, events, promotions and new materials. · Develop the back-end programming for online campaigns (banner ads, viral marketing, etc.) developed by others. Implement these on the site and share with global counterparts. · Develop and update content to maintain high visibility on Internet through use of search engine submissions, and maximize SEO on primary pages. · Collect data and report on web traffic, suggest ways to improve website traffic using various data collection software and implement approved changes. · Review current web design trends and SEO practices and recommend new initiatives to increase traffic or enhance the user experience. · Troubleshoot errors or issues with the website; find and document root cause and take appropriate steps to correct the problem and, if applicable, make enhancements in response. · Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. · Responsible for performance tuning and working in conjunction with the IT department to maintain website security. · Due to the confidential nature of the work, all duties must be performed on Faro premises.
REQUIREMENTS: · BS in computer science and 5+ years of relevant work experience · Solid understanding of ASP.NET, HTML and SQL · Experience in Dreamweaver · Proven hands-on experience with search-engine optimization · Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve website issues with an understanding of the overall impact of any changes made · Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment · Layout/design skills · Interpersonal skills · A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected
