With over 170 branches nationwide and 500 sales representatives, White Cap stocks a wide array of more than 65,000 products, including brand name construction materials, hand tools, fasteners, safety equipment, power tools and equipment, work wear, concrete forms and supplies, and landscape lighting.

Job Summary

White Cap Construction Supply is looking for a Territory Sales Associate for the State of Florida. This position will support the sales efforts of the Product Specialist in charge of selling 3M fire stop products and related construction supplies in the state. The position will require 6-12 months of intensive field and manufacturer training. Grow the business by developing sales, meeting or exceeding objectives, and ensuring customers receive the highest level of service possible. Ensure that pricing and contracts are consistently, accurately, and ethically administered.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• Execute customer sales strategies and initiatives to achieve sales targets of assigned customers. Focuses on prospecting undeveloped or un-penetrated customers and new markets. Generates viable sales leads and prospects through market/account research, sales events, networking, vendor events, computer programs, etc.
• Adds customer value by developing a thorough understanding of the business and types of projects. Sells the breadth and depth of the product and service offering. Promotes growth by providing customers additional product offerings to meet their business needs. Prepares and executes a plan for each account to identify the customer's short- and long-term needs.
• Interacts with customers, vendors, and associates to resolve customer and service related issues.
• Maintains a current and competent base of product knowledge and applies that knowledge when servicing customers.
• Responsible for accurate and timely submission of all required sales administration and commission reports. Regularly attends required company meetings.
• Calls on assigned and prospective accounts to bid for jobs and secure new business.

Nature and Scope
• Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
• Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct 'customers' of the process.
• May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.

Work Environment

• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
• Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Essential Skills
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be eighteen years of age
• Must pass the Drug Test

• Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable

Education and Experience
• Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be a recent college graduate with a willingness to start a sales career in the construction supply industry. White Cap is looking for a candidate with an outgoing personality, attention to detail, computer literate and not afraid of working on construction projects with contractors
