The allocation coder reviews the allocation for all medical procedures and supplies in order to accurately code each procedure or item within the specified time frame. Must be able to code from medical records and not just SuperBills. This sort of coding requires research from tools such as RedBook, MedSpan and knowledge of HCPCS. Medicare knowledge and Medicare allowables are also very important. All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. All applicants applying for Canadian job openings must be authorized to work in Canada. Experience: Certification in Medical Coding, Previous Medical Bill review/ coder reviewing bills for medical services for work related injuries and illnesses. Receives, verifies and processes the coding of allocations relating to catastrophic Worker's compensation and Liability case settlements. Must be able to communicate with the MSA Allocation Nurse and the Case Manager.
