Position Summary:
The QA Manager provides oversight and support to the Program Manager. The QA Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance Manufacturing and Engineering program activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Must be able to provide an objective, independent view of the quality of the products, as well as execution of the program procedures.
• Is responsible for:
· Review and approval of Project Documentation.
· Conducting Quality Assurance Compliance Audits of Products and Procedures.
· Developing Manufacturing processes, procedures, and checklists as necessary.
· Participating in formal reviews.
· Performing incoming inspections of supplier, vendor and customer-provided products.
· Witnessing and approving product qualification, verification and acceptance testing.
· Development and implementation of Program and Project Quality Plans.
· Taking care of other administrative technical matters.
• Shall also be responsible for:
· Performing Quality System Audits of current and potential suppliers.
· Monitoring and reporting critical Quality performance measures to Management.
• Will prepare QA and technical reports.
• Interface and coordinate with Project staff including Project Management, Engineering and Manufacturing staff.
• Is expected to support the improvement and deployment of the ASSET Business Unit's Quality Management System (QMS) supporting the ISO 9001 and CMMI standards.
• Will be required to work closely with the:
· DCMA Representatives.
· US Army QA Representatives.
· Prime Contractor's QA Representatives.
• Must have experience managing a small group of Quality Engineers.
• Must be capable of traveling 10-25% of the time.
Requirements:
• Must hold at least a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering and/or technical field, preferably Manufacturing, and 7+ years of Engineering experience; at least 7+ years must be in Quality Assurance and Process Engineering
• Must have experience in and knowledge of the CMMI and ISO9000
• Experience working large-scale programs with multiple subcontractors
• Familiar with:
· Multiple Development and Manufacturing Life-Cycle models
· Requirements Specification and Traceability
• Vendor/Supplier audit experience
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills to support multi-tier communications
DESIRED SKILLS:
• ASQ Certifications (i.e. CQA, CSQE, CQE, CMQ)
• Experience with and certification in Six Sigma and/or Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing processing
• Working experience in Defense Systems Business
