Responsibilities:
· Drive a straight truck 24 ft. or smaller
· Use writing instruments, pallet jack, pallets, skids, knife, hand truck, copier, fax, telephone, hand held package scanner, etc.
· Sort freight and load truck according to route sequence
· Deliver the merchandise to Staples customers (residential and commercial) in a prompt, safe, business like, and friendly manner while giving top priority to taking care of our customer's needs
· Return all delivery receipts and manifests to the appropriate supervisor at the end of the shift
· Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Minimum 1-year of truck driving experience of a 24' ft. or longer straight truck
· Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card
· 1 - 3 years in a service-oriented position
· Must have a valid driver's license (no "major moving violations" as described in the employment application supplement and in accordance with applicable state law)
· Ability to lift up to 100 lbs., navigate and read a maps
· Ability to use mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) devices
· Excellent customer service skills
· Must be a team player and able to work well with minimum supervision
· Small package delivery experience preferred
· Ability to work flexible hours preferred
